Norm, Robert, Joseph, Michael, John, Jeremy, Jay, Jake and Nate boarded the 60′ Bertram Blue Sea for a customized eight-hour Cabo adventure on August 12, 2023. Their day combined six hours of offshore fishing with two hours of floating and water activities in Medano Bay. Captain Alex and the Blue Sea crew produced two dorado and four skipjack before changing gears for the group’s afternoon on the water.

This was not designed as a conventional eight-hour fishing charter. Norm’s group wanted both sides of Cabo: serious fishing during the morning and time to relax together in Medano Bay afterward.

Cabo Fishing Charter Gets Nine Guests Offshore Early

Blue Sea left the marina at 6:15 AM with Norm, Robert, Joseph, Michael, John, Jeremy, Jay, Jake and Nate aboard.

A nine-person group benefits from the additional room provided by the 60′ Bertram. There was space for the anglers to participate in the fishing while still allowing everyone to move comfortably around the boat during a long day.

Captain Alex had six hours allocated specifically to fishing.

The dredge was incorporated into the trolling program, creating the visual impression of a larger school of bait beneath the surface. That presentation can help bring pelagic predators toward the trolling spread.

August water around Cabo was running approximately 84–86°F, putting the charter firmly into the summer warm-water fishery.

Cabo Fish Action Produces Six Fish Across Two Species

Dorado supplied the premier game-fish action.

Two dorado came into the day’s catch, giving members of the group an opportunity to experience one of Cabo’s signature summer species. Dorado are known for explosive acceleration, aerial fights and dramatic green, yellow and blue coloration.

Four skipjack added another dimension.

Skipjack may not have the size of Cabo’s larger pelagic predators, but their strength-to-size ratio makes them excellent fighting fish. Their fast initial runs can quickly test an angler once the line comes tight.

The final fishing statistics were compact but productive: six fish during six dedicated fishing hours, split between two warm-water species.

For a nine-person group, the morning provided multiple opportunities before it was time for Blue Sea to begin the second part of the itinerary.

Cabo Charter Changes From Fishing to a Medano Bay Float

After six hours offshore, Captain Alex pointed Blue Sea toward Medano Bay.

That transition was planned from the beginning.

Instead of spending the final two hours searching for another bite, Norm and the group switched from rods and trolling gear to swimming and relaxing.

The lily pad and water toys came out, and Blue Sea became the group’s private base in Medano Bay.

Breakfast, coffee and Baileys, lunch and an open bar were included during the day. Fishing licenses, bait, photos and video were also part of the package, along with an Arch visit. Each member of the nine-person group also received a Dri-Fit shirt and cap.

Cabo Fishing Report Shows the Value of a Combination Charter

What made this August 12 charter distinctive was its balance.

Norm, Robert, Joseph, Michael, John, Jeremy, Jay, Jake and Nate did not have to choose between spending a day fishing and spending a day enjoying Cabo’s coastline.

They combined both.

The first six hours were built around fishing aboard a 60′ Bertram. The final two were devoted to the social side of the trip in Medano Bay.

By the scheduled 2:15 PM return, the group had accumulated eight hours on the water, six fish, two species and two completely different Cabo experiences.
