September 25, 2023 delivered a productive Cabo dorado fishing charter for eight anglers visiting from New Zealand. Brett, MacLaren, Nixon, Jeff, David, Stephen, Toby and Nils boarded the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky at F Dock with Captain Luis for a full eight-hour fishing day from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

The final result was focused and straightforward: 7 dorado landed and kept.

With eight anglers aboard, the charter was structured as a group fishing experience, giving the visitors from New Zealand an opportunity to spend a full day offshore while targeting one of the most recognizable game fish found around Cabo San Lucas.

Cabo Dorado Fishing Produces Seven Game Fish

Dorado accounted for every fish landed during the September 25 charter.

There were no smaller secondary species included to increase the catch total and no unrelated fish required to make the report appear more productive. The group landed seven quality dorado during eight hours of fishing.

The final catch included:

  • 7 dorado landed
  • 7 total game fish
  • 7 dorado kept
  • 8 anglers
  • 8 hours of Cabo fishing
  • One primary offshore species

Dorado are especially popular with visiting anglers because they combine aggressive strikes with speed, powerful direction changes and frequent jumps.

Their bright green, yellow and blue coloration also makes a freshly landed dorado one of the most recognizable sights in Cabo sport fishing.

New Zealand Anglers Experience Cabo Fishing

Traveling from New Zealand to Cabo San Lucas makes the September 25 charter particularly interesting.

Brett organized the group, which included both adults and younger anglers. Staying at Casa Dorada, the party dedicated a full day of its Cabo vacation to offshore fishing rather than selecting a shorter introductory trip.

For international visitors, an eight-hour charter provides considerably more time to experience the offshore fishery.

Blue Sky departed at 6:00 AM, allowing Captain Luis to begin searching around first light and continue working productive water through the late morning and early afternoon.

By the 2:00 PM return, seven dorado had been landed.

Eight-Hour Cabo Fishing Charter Expands the Search

Dorado are highly mobile pelagic fish, so finding yesterday’s productive water does not guarantee today’s result.

Bait concentrations move. Current edges change. Floating structure drifts, and game fish can relocate with changing offshore conditions.

An eight-hour Cabo fishing charter gives the captain more flexibility to respond.

Captain Luis had a full fishing day to search for productive conditions, adjust the boat’s position and remain with active dorado once opportunities developed.

This additional time becomes particularly valuable for larger groups because more fishing hours can create more opportunities to distribute rod time among the anglers.

Captain Luis Delivers a Focused Dorado Result

A seven-dorado result requires more than simply locating one fish.

Once productive activity is found, the captain and crew must maintain the trolling presentation, position the boat correctly and convert strikes into completed catches.

Captain Luis and the Blue Sky crew produced seven successful dorado catches for the New Zealand group.

The charter did not require a mixed collection of species to create a meaningful fishing report. Instead, it became a dedicated Cabo dorado fishing day centered on one of the region’s signature warm-water game fish.

That focused result gives anglers researching Cabo fishing a realistic picture of what an offshore day can look like.

Family and Group Fishing Aboard Blue Sky

With eight guests aboard, the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky provided considerably more space than a smaller sport-fishing boat.

That becomes important on a group charter where anglers have different experience levels and not everyone necessarily wants to fish continuously.

A larger private boat gives the crew room to manage fishing activity while allowing other guests to watch the action comfortably.

For the Maber group and their friends, the charter also included younger members, making the day a shared Cabo fishing experience rather than simply an intensive trip for experienced anglers.

Seven dorado provided enough action to make the offshore experience a memorable part of their Cabo vacation.

September 25 Cabo Fishing Weather Conditions

The September 25 fishing morning around Cabo San Lucas began warm, with temperatures approximately 80–82°F before conditions climbed toward the upper 80s and low 90s later in the day.

Skies were mostly clear to partly cloudy, with lighter wind during the early portion of the charter and increasing wind later. Humidity remained approximately 70–75%, while barometric pressure was around 1011–1013 mb and visibility was approximately six miles.

Sunrise occurred near 6:10 AM.

Blue Sky’s 6:00 AM departure therefore placed the New Zealand group on the water around first light and provided nearly the entire morning and early afternoon for offshore fishing.

Cabo San Lucas Fishing for International Visitors

Daily catch reports provide valuable information because they show how Cabo San Lucas fishing performs for real guests on actual charter dates.

September 25 was not presented as a record-breaking day. It was a productive eight-hour charter that generated seven quality dorado for a group visiting Cabo from the other side of the Pacific.

That distinction matters.

Authentic fishing reports document both the catch and the circumstances surrounding it: the fishing time, boat, captain, group size, species and final results.

For Brett and his New Zealand group, the combination was seven dorado during a full day aboard Blue Sky.

Final Cabo Fishing Report Summary

September 25, 2023 delivered a productive international group charter aboard Blue Sky with Captain Luis.

7 Dorado Landed + 8 New Zealand Anglers + 8 Hours of Cabo Fishing = A Productive Cabo Dorado Charter.
