The August 21 trip was built around a full fishing day. With ten anglers aboard and eight hours available, Blue Sea had the time and space to search Cabo’s summer water without relying on a dredge presentation.

Cabo Fishing Charter Gives Ten Anglers a Full-Day Platform

A ten-person fishing group requires space.

The 60′ Bertram Blue Sea gave Brad’s group a substantial platform for the eight-hour trip. Brad, Joshua, Aaron, Wil, Alex, Lyle, Taylor, Ryan, Ian and Colton could rotate through the fishing action while still having room to move around the boat.

The 6:15 AM departure opened an eight-hour fishing window extending through 2:15 PM.

Unlike some Blue Sky Cabo charters, the dredge was not part of this fishing program. The crew instead worked the day’s trolling presentation without it, searching for signs that could identify productive water.

August is firmly within Cabo’s warm-water season. Water temperatures around the southern tip of Baja during this period commonly occupy the mid-80°F range, creating conditions suitable for both dorado and billfish.

That combination appeared during this charter.

Cabo Fish Report Features a Marlin Release

The marlin became the day’s premier offshore encounter.

Few fish define Cabo San Lucas more clearly than marlin. Their combination of size, speed, strength and aerial ability makes the hookup only the beginning of the experience.

For a group of ten, a marlin fight also becomes a shared event.

While one angler handles the rod, everyone aboard can watch the fish, follow the fight and see the crew work through the process of bringing the billfish safely alongside the boat.

The August 21 marlin was successfully released.

That produced a 100% release rate for the billfish encountered during the charter and allowed the fish to return to Cabo’s warm Pacific water.

Cabo Charter Fishing Adds Two Dorado to the Day

Two dorado provided another style of game-fish action.

Where a marlin encounter can develop into a prolonged battle, dorado frequently deliver fast surface action almost immediately.

Their rapid acceleration, sudden direction changes and tendency to jump make them exciting fish for both the angler and everyone watching from the cockpit.

August is an excellent period for encountering dorado around Cabo. Crews look for signs such as bait concentrations, current edges, floating material, weed lines and bird activity.

The brilliant colors of a dorado are another part of the experience. Green, electric blue and yellow can become particularly intense during the fight.

Having two dorado alongside a marlin encounter gave Brad’s group two very different examples of Cabo’s warm-water fishery.

Cabo Fishing Report Shows Why Full-Day Time Matters

The raw catch numbers tell only part of this charter.

Three fish for ten anglers might look simple on paper, but one of those fish was a marlin and the other two were dorado.

Quality and species matter.

The eight-hour format also allowed Blue Sea to keep fishing through changing conditions rather than being restricted to a short morning window. Bait moves, currents shift and offshore fish rarely operate according to a charter schedule.

Lunch was provided for all ten guests, allowing the group to remain aboard throughout the full fishing day.

By the scheduled 2:15 PM return, Brad, Joshua, Aaron, Wil, Alex, Lyle, Taylor, Ryan, Ian and Colton had experienced eight hours aboard a 60′ Bertram, two dorado and the release of one of Cabo’s signature billfish.

That is a Cabo fishing day where the species tell the story better than sheer numbers.
