32′ Luhrs Blue Star | Captain Chewy | 6 Hours Fished

Eric traveled from the British Columbia, Canada area for a six-hour charter with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours aboard the 32′ Luhrs Blue Star. The two-person trip included the dredge and lunch for two, giving Captain Chewy a full morning to work the offshore grounds for a mixed-species result of three dorado and two skipjack.

Blue Star departed F Dock at 6:00 AM and returned at noon after producing five fish across two species.

September Cabo Fishing Conditions Build the Charter Report

Five fish for only two guests created a productive fish-to-angler ratio.

The catch also delivered variety. Dorado supplied the primary game-fish action while the two skipjack added more strikes and strong fights.

Dredge Program Drives the Cabo Charter Fishing Spread

Captain Chewy incorporated the dredge into Blue Star’s offshore trolling program.

A dredge creates the visual impression of a concentrated school of bait moving beneath the surface. That additional movement can help attract pelagic predators toward the boat and into the primary fishing spread.

On September 6, the approach produced opportunities on two different species.

Three dorado became the headline catch.

Two skipjack added to the activity.

Three Dorado Lead the Cabo Sportfishing Catch

Dorado were clearly the dominant species of the morning.

Their aggressive strikes, fast runs and dramatic coloration make them an ideal Cabo game fish. Once hooked, a dorado can rapidly cross the stern, change direction or take to the air.

With three dorado in the final count, Eric’s charter experienced repeated opportunities rather than relying on one isolated hookup.

The dorado were kept.

For a two-person trip, three quality dorado represented a strong core result from six hours offshore.

Skipjack Add Action to the Cabo Fishing Report

The two skipjack brought another style of fight.

Skipjack have tremendous strength relative to their size and can make sustained runs that keep anglers working. They may not carry the same reputation as dorado, but they add legitimate action to an offshore trolling day.

Both skipjack were released.

That produced a simple final species breakdown: three dorado kept and two skipjack returned to the water.

Five fish. Two anglers. Two species.

Lunch Completes the Cabo Charter Fishing Experience

Eric’s charter also included lunch for two.

That allowed both guests to remain comfortable while Captain Chewy continued fishing through the six-hour window.

The combination of lunch, dredge fishing and a smaller two-person party gave the crew an opportunity to focus closely on the anglers aboard.

Blue Star is a 32′ Luhrs, making it a very different experience from the larger yachts in the Blue Sky Cabo fleet. For two guests, however, the boat offers a practical sportfishing platform with the cockpit and equipment needed for a dedicated offshore program.

Blue Star returned to IGY Marina at noon with five fish on the charter record.

For Eric’s two-person trip, three dorado and two skipjack created an active six-hour morning, with the dredge helping Captain Chewy build a dedicated offshore presentation.
