This was a classic full-day summer setup: an early departure, warm ocean conditions and enough charter time to let the crew search rather than being tied to one area.

Cabo Fishing Charter Uses Time to Search for Dorado

An eight-hour charter gives a crew something particularly valuable—time.

Conditions can change considerably between the 6:00 AM departure and 2:00 PM return. Bait can move, current edges can develop, birds can appear over feeding activity and productive water can shift.

The 43′ Riviera Blue Sky gave the five anglers a larger platform for the full-day trip.

The dredge was also part of the fishing strategy. Operating beneath the surface, it creates the visual appearance of multiple baitfish traveling together. Combined with the trolling spread, that larger presentation can help attract predators from deeper or farther away.

On August 10, dorado provided the results.

Cabo Dorado Fish Action in Warm August Water

Dorado are particularly well suited to Cabo’s summer environment.

Warm water can push these fish into areas holding concentrated bait, current breaks, floating debris or weed lines. Experienced crews watch all of those signs rather than simply trolling a predetermined route.

Once hooked, dorado can change the pace of a charter immediately.

They are capable of fast runs and repeated jumps, and their colors can become extraordinarily bright during the fight. Electric blue, green and yellow often become visible as the fish approaches the boat.

For five anglers aboard Blue Sky, the two dorado provided the principal fishing action of the eight-hour trip.

Cabo Charter Fishing Report Reflects More Than Catch Totals

Fishing reports become more useful when the catch is considered alongside the structure of the charter.

This was not a short morning outing.

Blue Sky had eight hours, beginning at 6:00 AM. Five guests were aboard. Lunch was provided. The dredge was available. The crew had a 43′ Riviera beneath them and the flexibility to search Cabo’s summer fishing grounds.

Those details matter because no two fishing days develop identically.

A full-day charter gives the captain room to respond when fish are scattered or when the productive water is farther from the marina. Rather than watching the clock after only a few hours, the crew can continue searching and adjust techniques as conditions change.

August also presents its own challenge. Warm water may support multiple offshore species, but that does not guarantee concentrated fish in every location. Finding the right combination of bait, current and temperature remains essential.

Cabo Fish Results Aboard the 43′ Riviera Blue Sky

By the scheduled 2:00 PM return, the August 10 charter had produced two dorado.

The numbers were straightforward, but the fishing day represented something larger: five anglers spending eight hours on Cabo’s warm Pacific waters aboard a private 43′ Riviera.

For Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours, this is why full-day charters remain an important option. More time does not guarantee more fish, but it gives the captain considerably more freedom to search, change locations and react to what the ocean is showing.

On August 10, that search resulted in two of Cabo’s most recognizable warm-water game fish.
